We had a pretty good showing of community members today (10.9.8), I just wanted to give a big thanks to everybody who showed up.
Maybe we will see more of you in the near future.

I've never been to a pool session before, and don't have any friends here to go with. It is pretty easy to just come in and meet people? I'd like to come down tomorrow night I think.

Depends on what you consider hard. There are three various tasks of equal difficulty that comprise the process of coming down and meeting people. First the drive or hitching a ride down to the pool on campus at the UPS. Driving is easier than hitching but you might find someone that is going who lives around you which might make it a bit easier yet. Second would be opening the double glass doors at the pool. Depending on how much stuff you carry it can be easy or very difficult. With one open hand you can open and slide through with a boat. But if you were to carry all your gear, paddle and boat along with say, a boombox in the other hand it would become much more difficult to open the door and slide through. And then finally the part about meeting people. Honestly its easier and harder for different people to get to know strangers. Some people just kick right in and others are shy and harder to get to know right away. It really depends on you. NOW the young lady that takes your money and signs you up is going to be really friendly and she might even joke around with you.... don't take it too far though, her boyfriend is a ripper in a playboat and I promise he will be around !!! I think its all much easier than say, getting Leif to drink a birthday beer! Maybe I will see ya tonight ! ?

HAHA! Thanks James - While I can't say that I will have any problems getting there, I'll drive myself, I was actually thinking of bringing my boombox. But after your advice, I suppose I'll just leave it behind this time.

Just a heads up, there will be no pool session Monday, Oct 20th. we are on fall break, so the pool will be closed. sorry... This means that if you want to get some time on warm water within the next week, you better come this Thursday (Oct. 16th), otherwise you will have to wait :-(

I am planning to make regular trips down from Seattle, so I second James' thought - if anyone wants to carpool...
Having recently attended the UPS pool session for the first time, I can confirm it is way more fun than other pool sessions.

Are the UPS sessions as much of a cluster f*#& as the one's at Meadowbrook? Would like to get back in the pool but there's no room even to bowstall at the other spot.

I have been to every pool session this semester and I can always find a spot to bow stall (or fail miserably). Besides, we have Leif's endorsement, that has to count for something.
As of this Thursday (the 23rd) our pool sessions will be running normally (every Monday and Thursday) until turkey week, so come on by.
