Tobin's policy isn't a bad model-- and i'm sure a sliding scale sort of approach is good, too, that is to say, lots of paddlers are nearly flat broke much of the time. Even still, there's always little ways to let James know we appreciate what he does, and various gestures we can each make from time to time to help facilitate his ability to get out, and get down the river. We could all stand to keep this in mind.

It is amazing how this resource has matured (I'm talking about the resource, not our behavior

) over a few years. It has single handedly replaced or at the very least augmented some out moded resources. I do think we all need to find ways somehow to support it and help it thrive.
